Here’s to New Beginnings!

As we approach the end of a school year that was challenging on so many levels, we finally begin to feel that sense of normalcy creep back into our personal and professional lives. Vaccines and health management indicate the pending end to this crisis, which has affected all of us to one degree or another, both personally and professionally.

Our music programs have suffered greatly. Many of us had very few, or even no live performances! We’ve split into smaller ensembles, distanced our students, wore masks all year, used bell covers, or even zippered our student into little pods (did you see that one?). We’ve tried our best to keep our students engaged and interested, but performing alone from home via Zoom just isn’t quite the same, is it?

Being part of an ensemble means that you must assemble. We love what we do because we do it with others, together, in the same place at the same time, listening to each other and blending our talents to create unique musical experiences.

This coming year will be a year to rebuild. We’ll need to reignite the passions of older students and convince younger ones that last year is really not the norm. We’ll need to engage them like never before, be exciting, be fun, offer great musical opportunities and encourage the camaraderie and fellowship (safely) that’ve been without for far too long.

Being part of an ensemble means that you must assemble. We love what we do because we do it together!

It’s going to be a year of new beginnings for all of us. It’s going to feel a lot like starting over, teaching our students what it’s really like to be a member of a large performing group. It’s going to be a fresh start and we’ll need to do all that we can to make next year new and exciting. We’ve got to be ready to begin with the enthusiasm and confidence that things are going to be much, much better.

As you “relaunch” your program, you’ll also want to “relaunch” your online presence and kick off the new year in a big, bright and exciting way! Having a professional, engaging website for your program is essential to showcase your performing groups and communicate with both parents and students.

You’ll also be able to let everyone know when rehearsals, performances and specials activities are scheduled. And you’ll have them!

Cadenza’s website builder is the perfect platform to reintroduce your program, to show that you’re “back in business” and ready to be an exciting and meaningful part of your student’s lives. Cadenza is loaded with features and is built just for the bands, orchestras, choirs, dance companies and theatre troupes.

So here’s to new beginnings and here’s to hoping that things are back to normal (or even better!) for next year!
